1. Paradise Springs Water Park

Distance: 0 miles, it’s at the Gaylord

Cool off at the 10-acre outdoor pool and lazy river complex featuring a 6,000-square-foot family lagoon, giant water playhouse, 600-foot long lazy river, and four winding waterslides. Paradise Springs Water Park is on-site at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center and is an exclusive amenity for all guests. Plus, free admission is included with your room! 


2. Dallas Museum of Art

Distance: 22 miles, approximately 28 minutes

One of the top art museums in the country sends you on a journey through 5,000 years of history, from antiquity to contemporary art. You can expect to see art collections by O’Keeffe, Hopper, Childe Hassam, as well as masters like Canaletto, Courbet, Monet, Van Gogh and Piet Mondrian. If you’re a lover of art, you won’t want to miss this museum!


3. Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden

Distance: 29 miles, approximately 38 minutes

Throughout the summer, the fairytale-esque Dallas Arboretum stages “Cool Thursdays Concerts” atop its perfectly manicured lawn on the shores of White Rock Lake. The music events encompass a wide range of musical genres, including tribute bands from the ‘70s and ‘80s.


4. Mena’s Tex Mex Grill Cantina

Distance: 15 miles, approximately 20 minutes

In the mood for some authentic Tex Mex? Mena’s offers a wide variety of authentic Mexican cuisine. With over 25 years of experience in Tex Mex and Mexican food, Mena’s is sure to provide you with the ultimate Dallas experience.


5. Klyde Warren Park

Distance: 22 miles, approximately 26 minutes

Take a walk in the Arts District of Downtown Dallas at Klyde Warren Park! Dreamed up as a central public gathering space for Dallas, Klyde Warren Park has a big lawn fringed by a tree-lined pedestrian promenade, and comes with a restaurant, botanical garden, reading room, and performance pavilion.


6. Botanist Craft Cocktail Lounge

Distance: 25 miles, approximately 30 minutes

Want to sample all the best cocktails Dallas has to offer? Head on over to Botanist Craft Cocktail Lounge. Botanist evokes the feeling of stepping into another world. A comfortable living room filled with antiques, dimly lit chandeliers, and lounge seating. Enjoy their Happy Hour from 5:00 – 8:00pm on Tuesday and Wednesday nights.


7. Magnolia Market

Distance: 113 miles, approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes

Planning on staying a little longer in Dallas? Do you love Chip and Joanna Gaines? Experience the magic of Magnolia Market at the Silos in Waco, Texas. Magnolia Market at the Silos has expanded into a full-blown Silos District with all kinds of shopping and dining nearby. In addition to the market, you’ll find a game lawn, a garden, a bakery, and a wide variety of food trucks. It’s worth the trip!
